The Munay-Ki - the next step in evolution

The Munay-Ki are the nine great rites of initiation of the medicine way. The word munay means “I love you” or “BE AS THOU ART.” The Munay-Ki are the nine gates that heal us and transform our human energy field into that of homo luminous.

The prophecies of the ancient Americas speak about a new human appearing on the planet – one who lives free of fear and resides in his or her transcendent nature. The Munay-Ki are the codes for the new human. They are delivered in the form of energetic transmissions. The ninth rite, the “Creator Rite” was transmitted for the first time in the summer of 2006 at the Holy Mountains in the Andes. The nine initiations of the Munay-Ki have only been available until recently to the high wisdom keepers of the Americas.

In this innovative five-day residential course, participants will have the opportunity to apply shamanic healing methods to practical issues affecting our communities and contemporary society.

• How can the shaman act as mediator between spirit and community, helping to restore peace and resolve conflict?
• What effect does the history and spirit of “place” have on national, community, and personal conflicts? How can a place be healed, so that peacemaking efforts can be effective?
• How can internal conflicts and conflicts among people and nations be healed? What about illnesses resulting from violence, such as addictions, patterns of abuse, alienation, and desire for revenge?

This course will examine these issues from a shamanic perspective, addressing specific areas such as gang/youth violence, prisons, community mental health, restorative justice, war trauma, political conflicts, peacemaking, and aggressive illnesses such as cancer. Using ceremony and ritual and building upon ancient shamanic traditions of healing the soul and restoring harmony and balance, participants will have the opportunity to learn how to awaken the dreamer and restore shamanic healing back into their communities. This residential program will be held at an idyllic retreat center about 90 minutes north of San Francisco International Airport. There are beautiful areas to walk, swim, use a hot tub, or simply sit and reflect. The center is known for delicious and inventive food, prepared with healthful ingredients from nearby farms.

PREREQUISITE

The FSS Basic Workshop: Michael Harner’s The Way of the Shaman. It is not too late to meet the prerequisite: Find an upcoming FSS Basic Workshop near you. Workshops are taught by experienced Harner-trained faculty. If you have not yet met the prerequisite, you may still apply for the workshop now, as long as you will have completed the FSS Basic Workshop by October 21, 2007.
